Welcome to the Safe Feed/Safe Food Certification Program and our online media kit. We hope you find these tools useful as you promote your company's or facility's certification and involvement in the program.

Please take a few moments to read this letter from Larry Van Roekel, chairman of the American Feed Industry Association's Marketing Committee. The letter contains tips from a marketing professional on how to get the most out of these resources.

  • Sample news release
    Turn to this release when you want to share news of a facility achieving certification for the first time. Fill in the blanks and make sure the phrasing has meaning for your local news outlets and their audiences.

  • Sample tri-fold brochure
    Think about this four-color brochure when you want to provide an overview of the program to your customers. Personalize it for your company, but first you must contact Sarah Novak of the American Feed Industry Association to receive a CS3 InDesign file. AFIA must sign off on the proof before it is reproduced for broad distribution.

  • Sample 4 x 8.5 inch Flier
    Think about this four-color flier when you want to provide an overview of the program to your customers. Personalize it for your company, but first you must contact Sarah Novak of the American Feed Industry Association to receive a CS3 InDesign file.   • PowerPoint ™ slide presentation
    Consider using these slides the next time you have an opportunity to spread the positive message of the program to your employees, customers or members of your community. The comments that accompany the slides may be found here.

  • Logo
    Apply the logo to feed bags, tags, promotional literature, advertisements, newsletters, in-store signage and more, in accordance with the licensing agreement. You must contact Sharon Henry of the American Feed Industry Association to receive a black or blue version of the logo in a tiff, jpeg, gif, or eps file.

  • Advertising and promotion
    Customize and distribute the first ad in the following bulleted list to show your company's support
    • Sample one-page promotional ad that may be customized, plus a holiday meal companion ad that may be customized
    • One-page promotional ad by Cattleman's Choice/Loomix ™ that may not be customized or duplicated under any circumstances
    • Two-page ad in June 1, 2009, issue of Feedstuffs that lists participating companies at that time
    • Table-top sign touting certification can be used to display your support of the program with this small, free-standing sign that is suitable for use on tables and counters at exhibitions and events where space is limited. The sign (5.5" wide x 8.5" high) carries a "Proud to be Certified!" message, along with the phrase, "We Believe in Achieving the Highest Feed-Safety Standards for Our Customers and Our Consumers." You may download the images and print the sign on foam board or another material of your choice.

    Review comments by individuals who believe in the program because it's "our responsibility, our promise" to offer the best.
